It’s with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Sabina Ruth Scott on September 12, 2009 at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital.
Sabina was born June 17, 1921 to Marcus Osbourne and Amy (Parker) Hartlin of Burriss, Ontario.
She was predeceased by her husband William, brother Willy and sister Martha.
She will be lovingly remembered by her brother Jud of Emo; children Connie Miller (Hans) of Pinawa, Keith, Bill (Linda) and Doug (Allison) of Kenora. Also left to mourn Sabina’s passing are her grandchildren, and great grandchildren with whom she had developed some very special bonds and relationships. She also leaves several cousins and nieces to be remembered by.
Sabina attended school in Burriss. She met and married her husband Bill in Barwick and moved to Keewatin in 1954.
Sabina was very interested in the local area history and enjoyed reading about it. She also loved to travel and especially enjoyed their trips to Alaska. She could often be seen sitting in her chair knitting an afghan. Sabina had worked at Birchwood as a nurse’s aide. She was a loving mother and a true friend and she will be missed.
