Sarah (Sally) Miles (nee McKee) – April 10, 1940 to August 10, 2009

In loving memory of Sarah “Sally” Miles, age 69 years, who died peacefully in the Dryden Regional Health Centre on Monday August 10th.

 

Born April 10 1940 in Eton Rugby, Sally lived her entire life there, attending Eton Rugby School.  Her family was her life and inspiration; she lived to love, teach, advise, to assist and encourage them all.  Sally was very active in all community events serving as President of the Eton Rugby Community Hall, Secretary/Treasurer of the Eton Rugby Local Roads Board for 13 years, assisted in the publication of the Eton Rugby History Book and the Eton Rugby Cookbook, she was a former member of 4H, a Girl Guide Leader, and volunteered for 37 years with the Canadian Cancer Society.  A great lover of music, Sally enjoyed her piano immensely.

Sally is survived by her husband Fred of 50 years, her children Janet Miles, Jerry Miles and Shelley (Bruce) Petsnick, grandchildren Angela (Josh) Anderson, Michael (Reaghann) McGinn, Scott McGinn ( Réjeanne Piche) , great-grandchildren: Dominic, Keirra ,Shaydin and Myah, her sisters Wilma Ostman, Mary Johnson and Denise McKee, and brother  Gordon McKee, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren.

A Funeral Service was held Friday August 14th at 2:00 p.m. in the First United Church with Pastor Greg McKee officiating.  Interment followed in the Oxdrift Cemetery.

Visitation took place Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Stevens Funeral Homes “Moffat Chapel”.

Sally had a great love and compassion for her birds and daily visits from the neighbourhood deer.  She was an inspiration to all who knew her.  Sally will be sadly missed and always remembered by her family and many friends as the legacy of her life continues to shine in our hearts.
