Patricia Delores Benoit (nee Rochon) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Pinecrest District Home with her family at her side.
Patricia was born  on May 4, 1926 in Kenora and was in her 83rd year.
Patricia was predeceased by her parents Gladys and Nelson, and brother Max Rochon.
She is survived by her husband Armand (Benny) and sister Blanche McGregor and family; six children, Linda (Art), Tenis (Sharon), Murray (Bev), Bernard (Gail), Mark (Wendy), and Tracey (Shane).
Mom was extremely proud of her grandchildren  Darren, Nicole, Jamie, Jolene, Jamie, Jordan, Rachelle, Kim, Derek, Jade, Simone, Mackenzie, and Hayden. Grandma was blessed with twelve great grandchildren.
Mom was a Keewatin girl and grew up helping with the family business at the Bay City Hotel. Mom met Armand (Benny) and they were married on June 21, 1948. Mom and Dad celebrated 61 years of marriage before her passing. Pat and Benny raised their children in Keewatin and enjoyed family get-togethers, holidays and especially Sunday dinners.
Mom had a great sense of humour and had a gift of making people feel welcome in her home. She loved boating and overcame her fear of water by taking swimming lessons as an adult. Mom instilled in her children a strong sense of family and the importance of spending time together. She was non-judgemental and always supported her family in their decisions. The Catholic faith was central to Mom’s beliefs and she was a lifelong member of the Catholic Women’s League. Mom faced life with strength and a positive attitude – she will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank Doctors Sawatsky, Spielman, and Loewen for their care and especially the staff on Unit 3G at Pinecrest Home who truly treated our mother like their own. Their continued support is appreciated and will always be remembered.
Honorary pallbearers were Mom’s thirteen grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Pinecrest District Home Auxiliary.
Funeral service was held on Saturday, June 27th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Louis Roman Catholic Church with Father Thomas Mullamangalam officiating. A luncheon followed in the St. Louis Parish Hall. A private family interment will take place at a later date.

To Mom
How very, very lucky we  were
That you were our Mother.
You opened our minds and our hearts.
You always had the time
To tell us a story or sing us a song.
You always picked us up when we fell down
You will always be the most important Lady in our lives
Your love and guidance will always be with us.
We wish you could have been with us longer,
but we are so grateful for the time we had.
All of us, your friends and family, will truly miss you.
Thank you so much
For being our Mother…
