(John Richard) Graham Warren – July 4, 1936 to July 14, 2009

(John Richard) Graham Warren died peacefully surrounded by family on July 14, 2009 at the Dryden Regional Health Centre.

Born July 4, 1936, in South Branch (Kent County) New Brunswick, he first moved to Dryden in 1967 and found work with the Dryden Pulp and Paper Company.

Graham retired from Miller Construction in 2001 after many years of working as a grader operator on road construction throughout the region or clearing snow in and around Dryden while working for Fred Marion.

An avid hockey fan (forever loyal to the Canadiens), he was a regular at the local arena watching his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren playing.  He most enjoyed spending time with family and friends, spinning yarns and telling jokes, travelling (especially to visit family and friends in New Brunswick), fishing, and working around his son’s farm.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth, and nine children,  Debbie Keating of Dryden, Daryl Warren of Bowsman, Manitoba; Darlene Warren of Calgary, Alberta; Danny Warren of Dryden; Davene Siska of Saint Norbert, New Brunswick; Dora Warren of Salisbury, New Brunswick; Dolly Williamson of Dryden; Darren Warren of Oxdrift; and Dana Warren of Dryden.  He is also survived by three sisters, Irma Robertson, Jean Johnson, and Betty Hudson (all of New Brunswick); sixteen grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.

Graham is predeceased by his daughter, Mary; his parents, Taylor and Edith, and his brother, Emerson.

Graham believed it

didn’t matter how poor a man was; if he has a family, he’s rich.

Visitation was on July 16th from 6-8 p.m.

Funeral was held July 17th at 2:00 p.m. with Velma Henderson officiating. Interment at the Oxdrift Cemetery.

If friends so desire, donations may be made to DRHC CT Scan Fund through the Dryden Community Funeral Home, 249 Grand Trunk Avenue, Dryden, ON P8N 2X3.
