George Everett Matchett – November 22, 1923-July 1, 2009

In loving memory of George Everett Matchett who passed away suddenly at his home in Dryden,
Ontario on July 1, 2009 at the age of 85 years.
Everett was born in South Nelson N.B., served with the Canadian Armed Forces in World War II and received several medals of honour.
He married Theresa Ramsay and raised seven children; three daughters, Linda Arnold (Don), Edna Upton (Ty), Susan Dosot (Leo); four sons, Floyd, Douglas, Robert and Richard.
He is survived by three sisters Rita, Clara and Lole; three brothers Sam, Hiram and Harvey; 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In 1955 Evertt moved his family to Dryden, Ontario and worked at the Dryden Paper Mill until his retirement in 1976.
Everett was predeceased by his parents George and Sarah Matchett, one sister Irene and brothers Lionel and Courtney; his two sons Robert and Douglas and two grandsons Terrie and Randy.
Funeral service for Everett Matchett was held at the Dryden Community Funeral Home July 10, 2009 with Mary Mennell officiating with full Legion Honour Guard.
