It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Wilfred Napish Sr., aged 66 years, at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Centre on Friday, April 24, 2009.
Wilfred was born and raised in Aubrey Township, Eagle Lake First Nation. Wilfred was a logger and a guide, he loved the outdoors, gardening, hunting, fishing, and berry picking. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play hockey. Wilfred enjoyed attending the powwow trail.
He is predeceased by his Mother Laura in 1978, his Father Joseph in 1998, infant son Howard, son Wayne in 2005, Sister Cecilia Growden and Brother Anthony Adams.
Wilfred is survived by two daughters Marjorie Pitchenese – Napish, Ruth Meshake; sons Rocky, Wilfred Jr. (Dorothy Keeash); brothers Robert and Roy (Betty); sisters Mary Delyea, Bessie Adams, Margaret Napish; Grandchildren, Ivan, Eli, Erik, Erin, David Charlie, Marlene, Maddux, Mason, Beverly, Natasha Finlayson and best friend Chuck MacDonald of Eagle River, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Wake was held at his residence in Eagle Lake First Nation and a service was at the Eagle Lake First Nation Community Hall, Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at 1:00 pm with Father Al Campeau and a Native Elder, Clifford Skead officiating.
