It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Norman Louis Brown at 71 years of age.
Born and raised in Oxdrift, Norman lived most of his life in Dryden. He touched many people with his silly sense of humour, he loved to visit and have his daily afternoon tea, he was a very giving person and would provide “the shirt off his back” to anyone he considered a friend.
Norman is survived by his twin sister Norma Boyd (George), brothers Joseph Brown and Eugene Brown (Florence) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Alice and Wesley Brown, sister Margaret Michaud and brother John Brown.
A Memorial Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, May 12 at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Alan Campeau officiating.
Interment of ashes followed in the Dryden Cemetery. Prayers were recited in the Stevens Funeral Homes “Moffat Chapel” Monday evening.
The family would like to thank the Palliative Care Volunteers, the Staff at the Dryden Regional Health Centre and the Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) staff. Thank you to Father Al, the Stevens Funeral Homes Staff and everyone else who contributed to make a wonderful service at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church. Thank you to the ladies of the Catholic Women’s League for a lovely luncheon.
Norman’s well-loved cats are requiring a good home. They can be visited at Triple F Pet Store in Dryden.
Should friends desire, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society can be made through the Stevens Funeral Homes “Moffat Chapel” P.O. Box 412, Dryden ON P8N 2Z1. Condolences may be emailed to sympathycard@shaw.ca subject: Brown
